A bit of history
Moreton Bay has an oyster history that stretches back into the Dream Time. The Bay historically had 1000s of hectares of natural oyster reef, predominately made up of Saccostrea Glomerata, or Sydney Rock Oysters.
The Bays water t is the perfect mix of pristine oceanic sea water from the Pacific Ocean mixing with pure fresh water that seeps through the mangroves that rim the the worlds great sand islands. This combination produces the worlds best eating Oyster..
About us
We are family business and produce a limited amout of oysters each year. We sell direct and all our oysters are hand graded.
We farm along the coasts of both North and South Stradbroke Islands, and are the only farmer on the Coast of South Stradbroke. We proudly farm the historic oyster area 122, farmed by Henry Tippler from at least 1884 and later by the Dux family, early Gold Coast pioneers.
Our oysters can take up to 3 years to reach market size and the season for premium condition is generally from August to December and can extend through to April.
